My stepson once told me about a situation recently where his train journey home was held up by a “jumper” he spent an hour listening to commuters moan about how late they were, some of the comments were truly awful. It made me so proud that his concern was for the jumper and the jumpers family, not how his day had been disrupted. I was reminded of this today when I ventured into town firstly nearly getting wiped out on a crossing by a car who jumped a red light and then whilst driving to a friends, the ignorant drivers who cannot be bothered to acknowledge you when you stop for them or those that drive at you when the right of way is clearly yours. They then have the cheek to gesticulate at you. Why are human beings so wrapped up in themselves?
We are so concerned with ourselves that our ability to think for ourselves is being diminished to the point we just charge around being awful to each other. And the things that are really important don’t seem to register on busy lives. I recently discovered my son’s thumbprint was taken without my consent so that he can get library books out, and at his next school he must have prints done so he can have school dinners. To me those things are important not whether I beat a car to a junction or get somewhere 5 minutes quicker. So a warning to all parents .The government are taking biometric data from our children or to coin a government jargon ,”unit”. Once in the system there they will remain always identifiable, imagine that in a police state! We’re not too far away from one of those. Our police are cooperate employees of a global organisation, your children are the future workers and profit makers, in the business world and they will do anything to keep you as a money making unit.
I’m not a hippy or an anarchist really just a normal bloke that’s spent 40 years playing the game knowing I just didn’t quite fit. So I’m not going to try and fit in that world I don’t bloody like it much anyway so for me the alternative is to live in a sustainable way that requires minimal amounts of cash I’d rather dig a potato field for my yearly crop for eight hours a day than work in a factory for 6.50 an hour. And as for nursing 15-20 quid an hour who cares ,I don’t want your money ! I will never work for any government or organisation again. Some might say,” how lazy” but here is an example of my last two days work i.e. converting on old swing and some reclaimed wood into a chicken coop.

not so lazy then eh? I’ve had to spend 70 quid on plywood but the rest is reclaimed, I’ll get 8 chickens in it eventually. I’m no film maker either so what you see is a collection of photo’s documenting the evolution of my coop. there were no plans things just evolved depending on what wood was available. And this is the half-way point. Apologies for the length of time between blogs but a combination of writers block and a fear of talking shite hold me back ;-).
And finally I was reminded today by a wise man that,” everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial”………….
